These 25 videos will start your healing journey using “life movements” — your everyday moves that almost always go unnoticed: bending, lifting, sitting, and standing.
The McCall Method is a mindfulness-based program different from most physical therapy.
For example, everything in life has a foundation. Like your house, you need a stable base on which to stand. This course shows you how your pelvis and legs form that stable base. And you’ll be surprised how much easier and efficient it is to move. Also, the pain that has dominated your days fades away.
In this series, I start with the FLOOR MOVEMENTS: I help you break down your more significant movements (bending, sitting, and standing) so you can feel the details of how bigger movements are built. Relaxing unwanted tension allows the body to move with greater strength and ease. With this new awareness you can get “deeper,” stronger and more comfortable in the movements you’ll find in the following videos.
You will begin to sense that your pelvis is the center of all movement. As your muscles relax, you'll feel your bones take over. It’s hard to explain on paper, but you’ll no longer have to drag your body to do mindless exercises (like those found in most physical therapy), hoping they will “fix" you. You can immediately “know" how to move, and that replaces pain and limitations with comfort and strength. I call this using your body's intelligence.
Bending. It connects to all other movements you do in life.
Learning to bend is a process. It's like learning to climb a rock, shoot a basketball, or hit a pickleball; it’s no different. The process of learning to bend is the same and can be enjoyable as well. This life movement directly fits in with your sports or other activities because it is fundamental to ALL movements.
