Bending "trick" to get (or keep) a great backside!

If you have been hanging with me for a while, you know bending is something I focus on a lot. The fashion term is "hip-hinging." If you feel you have the hang of it fairly well, well think again. Because the better you bend from your hips the more stable, tall and strong you will feel. There will be other noticeable changes in your body (and mind) that have nothing to do with your hips!

The martial art of Kung Fu (that I have been practicing for a few years) relies on movements that build upon other movements. This is why the "skill" of movements is so critical in healing and enjoying moving. There is a true mind-body connection that goes far beyond having a noticeable nice backside. Increasing the awareness in how you move is an underlying secret to the McCall Method and to preventing and healing injuries.


Westerners are not great "benders." We like our chairs, sofas and high counters. In other countries (where the ground is where people work and live) there is a body intelligence that is natural for them. They are just "body smarter."
