CLASSES & WORKSHOPS
‘Rest and Restore” is the best way to regain natural, healthy movement: learning to restore the principles your body innately knows how to do and resting (or relaxing) those areas of the body holding tension to correct movement patterns.
This is a much different philosophy than what is the norm out in the world today. The idea of “holding tight” or “pushing through” when moving runs counter to how our neurological system (the brain of movements) actually works. To feel a movement and re-educate your muscles to do “the natural thing,” the body needs to be relaxed and go slow in the beginning. Movements as simple as bending and sitting have a direct relationship to more complex movements like running and lifting weights. This may be hard to understand until you have experienced it first-hand.
A person who has lived with pain for years can find relief, simply by re-learning how to move in ways that will reduce the pressure on weak and painful tissue.
